Kevin Jones To Miss 6 Weeks

Tatum Bell is looking better and better. If he doesn't flop, it will be hard for KJ to get back on the field if he does return after the 6th game.

Kevin Jones foot update

Mlive.com’s Tom Kowalski reports: “Detroit Lions running back Kevin Jones, despite being far ahead of schedule in his recovery from Lisfranc surgery, will not play in the first six regular season games. An official announcement probably won't be made for another two weeks, but a source close to the situation confirmed the Lions' front office is already planning on keeping Jones on the Physically Unable to Perform list. In that scenario, Jones would not be eligible to return until Detroit visits the Chicago Bears on Oct. 28." Based on this news we're giving Tatum Bell a copious set of projections. He'll compile plenty of big runs, catches and total yards working for Mike Martz. T.J. Duckett will steal some goal-line action but otherwise we can't think of a better 6th/7th round pick than Bell. Ssshhh... let's hope he stays there.

More and more people know about Bell. A couple of weeks ago he was on the waiver wire, now I see him taken in the 9-10 range in public leagues. In one competitive draft he went early in the 6th!
